Biography/ Background
Chia-Yen (Chad) Chiu is an Associate Professor in Leadership at the Adelaide Business School, the University of Adelaide. He holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources from the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York. Before joining the Adelaide Business School, Chad was a faculty member of the University of South Australia (Australia) and the University at Buffalo (US).
Chad's primary research interest is developing positive leadership for organisations. He studies a variety of leadership-relevant topics such as leader humility, shared and emergent leadership, and leaders' wellbeing. His work has appeared in multiple top peer-reviewed journals in the field of organisational research (i.e., FT50 and/or A*), including Journal of Applied Psychology, Human Relations, Journal of Management Studies, Human Resource Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior, and Leadership Quarterly. He currently serves as an Associate Editor of Human Relations (FT50/A*) and on the editorial boards of the Journal of Management (FT50/A*) and Journal of Organizational Behavior (A*).
