  • Biography/ Background

    Dandara Gabriela Haag graduated in Dentistry in 2013 at Federal University of Santa Catarina (2009 - 2013) located in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil. During her Bachelor Degree Dandara was involved with the following research activities:

    - Initiation to Research: a project developed by the university for undergraduate students willing to take part in research;

    - Obtained a scholarship from the National Program for Undergraduate Research Scholarship (PIBIC/CNPq 2011-2013). During this time two important projects were developed:
    •  In the first year Dandara participated of a Cohort Study entitled EpiFloripa () and developed the study "Xerostomia and Common Mental Disorders in adults: a population-based study" that was presented in the International Association for Dental Research meeting (IADR/2013/Seattle/WA);
    • In the second year of Dandara's Research Scholarship she studied the Brazilian spending on hospital with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and cancer.
    - Dandara also obtained the Diploma of Merit for achieving the best Grade Point Average for the Dentistry Program and also the Diploma of best student in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology of the Federal University of Santa Catarina. 

    In 2014 she obteined a PhD scholarship from the Brazilian program for overseas scholarships named Science without Borders. The aim of her reasearch at ARCPOH is to study the impact of oral health in quality of life of adults.
    Dandara research areas of interest include Public Health, Epidemiology, Quality of Life.
