  • Teaching Interests

My current role at the University is focused on developing the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) program.

Prior to undertaking this, I have taught into both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the School of Public Health and School of Medicine, at the University. Specifically, I was involved in the development and teaching of the course Developing a Research Proposal, taught Reflect, Research, Resolve, Public Health 1A, and Public Health 1B, and was involved in the marking of written examinations in the MBBS program, at the University of Adelaide. I have also taught physiotherapy clinical skills at The University of South Australia.

I have also run two workshops for staff and postgraduate students at the University of Adelaide, entitled Systematic Reviews in Ecology (Ecosystem Health Group, School of Biological Sciences), and an Introduction to Rasch Measurement Models (Transdisciplinary Measurement and Evaluation Research Group, School of Education).

I currently co-supervise a Master of Public Health student, and a PhD candidate in the School of Public Health. I have previously been the principal supervisor for two summer vacation scholars in the School of Biological Sciences.

  • Research Interests

I am particularly interested in cross-disciplinary research. My primary research interest is in exploring the relationship between greenspace exposure and human health outcomes. Other research I am involved in includes investigating the relationship between maternal exposure to trihalomethanes in water supplies  and birth outcomes; proposing strategies that model the environmental and human health outcomes driven by environmental changes; investigating the application of genomics to restoration and conservation ecology;  investigating vegetation changes over time at Witchelina Nature Reserve; proposing minimum dataset requirements for future studies.

I am collaborating broadly with researchers from The University of Adelaide, Flinders University, University of South Australia, University of Western Australia, Griffith University, University of Queensland, Australian National University, Victoria University, University of Tasmania, University of Montana, the SP Jain School of Global Management, Nature Foundation of South Australia, Metro Pain Group, Mansfield Medical Centre, Department of Environment and Water (South Australia), across a wide range of disciplines.
