    A/Prof Tania Crotti is the Postgraduate Coordinator (PGC) Manager and Chair of the PGC committee for the School of Biomedicine, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (FHMS). Tania is a member of the School of Biomed Research Committee and FHMS Higher Degree Research (HDR) Committee. At the University level, Tania is a former member of the Student Matters Subcommittee, HDR Advisory Board and an Academic lead on the Mixed Cohort Learning Group. Tania currently Co-Facilitator of the HDR Community of Practice (CoP) and is a FHMS Representative in the Executive Group of the Adelaide Education Academy (AEA). In these roles she actively contributes to the Adelaide Development Program for Educators and Professionals who Teach (ADEPT) activities and SUpervisory training.

    Tania was awarded a BHealthSci (Hons) in 1997 then worked as a Research assistant in the Department of Pathology, University of Adelaide before completing her PhD on “The mechanisms responsible for pathological bone remodeling in inflammatory conditions” in 2002 (funded by a Dora Lush, NHMRC Scolarship).  

    Tania subsequently worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Harvard Affiliated Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston USA.  She was awarded a CJ Martin, NHMRC Fellowship followed by an American Arthritis Foundation Fellowship in the area of Rheumatology and Osteoimmunology.   

    Tania returned to Adelaide during 2008 to continue her fundamental science research, accepting \ a research:teaching position with the Anatomy and Pathology Discipline in 2014. While her current research focus continues to explore localised bone loss associated with diseases such as peri-implant loosening, periodontal disease and RA, recent work has extended to understanding the mechanisms of pain in inflammatory arthritis, assessment of the impacts of chemotherapy on bone, the language of pain in pelvic conditions, patient experience in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis, and well being support for military.  In the scholarship of teaching, Tania is particularly interested in authentic assessment, well-being and bulding community relating to the undergraduate and post-graduate student experience.

    For leadership and mentorship in Research Education Associate Professor Crotti has been acredited as a Senior Fellow in Higher Education Advance (SF HEA 2021). Her contribution to postgraduate education and training has been recognised by the Australian Council of Graduate Research (ACGR) Excellence in Graduate Leadership Award (2023) and she is a current mentor in the Asia Pacific Women in Leadership (APWiL) program (2023/24)
